THOMSON ONE ANYWHERE MOBILE APP
Thomson ONE Anywhere is a mobile app that accompanies its Wealth Management platform.Â
The goal was to provide users access to market and client information on their mobile devices when away from their desktops.

UX Challenges
The first major hurdle was to map out the content. We needed to take a desktop application and apply it to a phone. Our strategy was not to replicate everything on the desktop, but only concentrate on the high value, frequently used areas of content.
The second challenge was simplifying the overall user experience. We had to strike a balance with a need for some complex functionality and less real estate per screen. We knew multiple layers of navigation would confuse our users, so we established simple, yet easy reusable patterns that would ensure a consistent experience.
UX Solutions
We conducted client research and reviewed user metrics to determine what existing content would best serve our users on mobile. We also wanted to see if there was new functionality and content we could add that would enhance the mobile app.
We know on mobile, users tend to snack. They will scan headlines, stock quotes, look up a clients account. But they won’t do much heavy lifting, such as rebalance an account on a phone.
For the homepage we focused on the Markets. We wanted to give the user a good picture of the what is happening in the market on one screen. We allowed the user to customize the content if they choose to see a more holistic view or to see how the markets are impacting their portfolio.
From the homepage the user can tap to see more details on a security or account with or without searching. Once they access a security or account overview screen, they have access to more related information without navigating away. It was important for UX to maintain context.
